Standing Out at Vintage Viola
From going live on Not On The High Street, to securing a retail space at the brand new Vintage Viola shop, its safe to say that today has been fabulous!
Let us fill in the blanks of our journey to this exciting moment.
It all started a few months back at a Real5 Networking event. We had the pleasure of meeting the amazing and inspiring Sharon Dunne, who is the founder of the funkiest charity shop in Cheshire, Vintage Viola.
Vintage Viola was set up in December 2018 following the fatal accident of the rising stars Viola Beach.
Viola Beach were an indie rock group, formed in our hometown of Warrington, Cheshire, in 2013. The band's final line-up consisted of River Reeves, Kris Leonard, Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin and were managed by Craig Tarry,
They featured on BBC Music Introducing, performed at both Leeds and Reading Festivals, had begun touring Europe and were due to take their music to the US. But their dream was cruelly brought to an end in 2016 following a tragic accident.
From these tragic events, the River Reeves Foundation was created. A performing arts charity to raise funds to support young aspiring performers from Warrington. A lasting legacy for Viola Beach.
Vintage Viola is one way that the Foundation fundraises to help young musicians, dancers, artists and other ‘performers’.
Each item that is purchased from the Vintage Viola shop helps to create ‘alternate futures’ for young people whilst keeping the Viola Beach magic alive.
We are truly thankful to Sharon for her support and her belief in what Stand Out is trying to achieve. We feel extremely proud and privileged to be a part of something so important and meaningful.
As of June 2022, Vintage Viola are the first Stockists of Stand Out Socks.
A Dream Come True!
