Premier League Star Joins Dragons' Den Winners to Support fundraising initiatives for Down Syndrome Football.
In a heartwarming collaboration Burnley FC & Brentford FC Penguins are teaming up with socially ethical sock company Stand Out Socks to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by each launching a collaborative pair of Stand Out Socks.
Founded by brothers Christian and Ross, Stand Out Socks is known for its commitment to inclusivity, social impact and creating paid employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities. They Recently featured on BBC's Dragons' Den, managing to secure the backing of Steven Bartlett and Peter Jones.
The Brentford Penguins FC, established in 2017 is a football team supported by Brentford FC that provides weekly outdoor training sessions open to boys and girls with Down's syndrome aged 5 and above. The club creates a friendly family atmosphere where everyone feels accepted while honing their football skills.
The Limitless Clarets School Programme, is an initiative by Burnley FC in the Community, dedicated to creating a positive work environment for young people to thrive. Through inclusive interventions tailored to suit the needs of all, the programme inspires young individuals with SEND, impairments, or disabilities, emphasizing that their achievements are indeed limitless.
100% of the profits from the sales of these collaborative socks will be reinvested back into the programs, actively contributing to facilitating greater participation of individuals with Down Syndrome in the world of football.
In a momentous celebration of the sock collaboration launch, both teams will face off at The Leisure Box (Northlight, Glen Way, Brierfield BB9 5NH) on the morning of March 16th in an eagerly awaited and competitive match, each striving for victory in the inaugural Stand Out Cup. Notably, both teams will proudly showcase complete lineups comprised entirely of individuals with Down Syndrome.
The Limitless Clarets look forward to gaining valuable tips from Burnley's Vice-Captain and Premier League star, Josh Brownhill. Brownhill is set to join their training session at The Leisure Box on the day before the match, scheduled from 5:45 PM to 6:15 PM.
As the cousin of Stand Out Socks founders Christian and Ross, Brownhill expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, showcasing a keen eagerness to leverage his profile in raising awareness for this incredible cause.
