Burnley fc in the community launch new Burnley fc socks with stand out socks with the support of Josh Brownhill and Jack Cork

Burnley FC Josh Brownhill with Stand Out Socks Cofounders Ross & Christian Laing

Burnley FC in the Community has teamed up with Stand Out Socks, a socially responsible sock company, for a heart warming collaboration in honour of World Down Syndrome Day. Together, we've created special pairs of Stand Out Socks designed to celebrate inclusivity and show support for individuals with Down Syndrome.

Stand Out Socks, founded by brothers Christian and Ross, is renowned for its commitment to inclusivity and social impact, even earning support from Steven Bartlett and Peter Jones on BBC's Dragons' Den.

The Limitless Clarets Programme, an initiative by Burnley FC in the Community, focuses on creating a positive environment for young people to flourish. Through tailored interventions, the program empowers young individuals with special educational needs and disabilities, highlighting their boundless potential.

Proceeds from the sale of these collaborative socks will be reinvested into programs aimed at enhancing the involvement of individuals with Down syndrome in the football community.

On March 12th, Josh Brownhill, cousin of Stand Out Socks founders Christian and Ross, along with Jack Cork, joined Burnley FC in the Community and Stand Out Socks for the sock launch at Holly Grove Primary School, where the BFCitC operates its Limitless Clarets School Project.

The players participated in a range of activities with the children, including Jack Cork's demonstration of crafting paper airplanes. Ross and Christian engaged the children in a conversation about World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, underlining the significance of offering employment opportunities to all individuals, irrespective of disabilities.

In a momentous celebration of this partnership, both Burnley FC in the Community and Brentford Penguins FC will engage in a tournament at The Leisure Box on Saturday before the match. They will compete for victory in the inaugural Stand Out Cup, with all team members being individuals with Down Syndrome.

All proceeds from the sale of the Stand Out x Burley FC Socks will go directly to supporting Burnley FC in the Community in organizing sports sessions for individuals with Down Syndrome. If you'd like to contribute to this cause, you can purchase the Stand Out Socks from the Burnley FC Store today!
